A Miraculous Reunion! How Yasunori Shiono Came to Compose Music for the Red Spider Series

Hello, this is studio wasp!

Today, I want to talk about the miraculous encounter with Yasunori Shiono, the composer behind the iconic music of the Red Spider series.

Yasunori Shiono was formerly with Neverland Company, where he was responsible for the music of the Super Famicom masterpiece, the "Lufia" series. However, due to various circumstances, he left the company and is now running his family's soba noodle shop.

I was personally a huge fan of the music from the "Lufia" series. I was deeply saddened when Mr. Shiono retired as a composer, and I continuously wished to hear his new music someday. Fortunately, I had some interaction with him through a fan site for the series. So, 11 years ago, when I decided to create the Red Spider series, I thought I'd ask him, even if it was a long shot, if he could compose for us.

However, to my astonishment, precisely when I started developing the  Red     Spider series, Mr. Shiono announced that he would be resuming his personal composing activities for the first time in over a decade! Believing it to be fate, I asked him to compose for us, and he readily accepted, leading to the creation of those wonderful pieces of music.

Currently, Mr. Shiono is unfortunately going through a family tragedy, making it difficult for him to create new music again. Therefore, for this remastered version, we are using tracks that were originally composed by Mr. Shiono and then arranged with SUNO.

I sincerely look forward to the day when we can hear new music from Mr. Shiono once more.
